Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Neomycin is an ammonia-detoxifying drug because it kills ammonia-producing bacteria in the GI tract. For this reason, it can also be used to decrease the bacterial count in the GI tract before bowel surgery.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
