A woman receiving danazol for endometriosis telephones complaining of a dark, swollen, and painful leg. The nurse should instruct the patient to:

  2. elevate both legs and apply heat to reduce venous congestion.
  3. go to the closest emergency room because of the risk of deep vein thrombosis.
