Answer to Question 1

A
Ondansetron is an antinausea drug that is given 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime to pre-vent the nausea that is associated with chemotherapy. Metoclopramide (Reglan) increases peris-talsis to help move food through the GI tract. Antihistamines prevent the nausea and vomiting caused by opiate drugs such as morphine. If the drug were given after meals, its purpose would not be met.
