Answer to Question 1

B
Clinical trials have demonstrated that application of 0.1 tazarotene gel once daily produced a significant reduction in lesions in most patients.
Most reactions to tazarotene are local and include itching, burning, stinging, dry skin, and red-ness. Less common effects include rash, desquamation, and bleeding. There is no time frame during which these might occur. Blistering, numbness, and ulcerations with drainage are not reactions that would be expected.
Tazarotene therapy takes about 12 weeks before a reduction is seen in psoriatic lesions.
