Answer to Question 1

a

Answer to Question 2

C
Too rapid an infusion or too much volume with a hypertonic solution can lead to fluid overload, which manifests as crackles in the lungs, a symptom of pulmonary edema.
Increased urine output is expected with an increase in fluid volume, therefore this would not be an abnormal finding.
A patient receiving a hypertonic IV solution is at risk for hypernatremia and thus hypokalemia. This patient's potassium level is normal.
A serum sodium level of 126 mg/dL indicates hyponatremia, which would not be assessed in a patient receiving a hypertonic solution IV.
