C. Client is sedated and not readily arousable. Stop PCA.
A. Instruct client to take deep breaths. Apply oxygen at 2 L per nasal cannula.
B. Elevate head of bed 30 degrees, unless contraindicated.
D. Evaluate for presence of analgesic side effects. Maintain a slightly drowsy, easily aroused client.
