Answer to Question 1

The slope of 1.32 is the rate at which the total phone bill will increase for each additional long distance call; it is related to average cost of the long distance calls.

Answer to Question 2

The y-intercept of 25.75 is the amount of the total monthly telephone cost when x, the number of long distance calls, is equal to zero. That is, when no long distance calls are made, there is still the monthly phone charge of 25.75.
