ANS: Rhythm and blues bands grew to include not only backup singers but
also a big-band-like ensemble of wind instruments, which often played a responsorial role
similar to that of the back up singers.

ANS: The rhythms of rock are usually not as complex as other genres, and
generally emphasize beats two and four of a four beat cycle.
