 While it is true that certain Muslim individuals and communities condemn music and musicians in the name of religion (e.g., fanatic, fundamentalist, Islamist, and conservative groups like the Afghani-based Taliban), in truth, a wealth of musical genres and styles exist in Islamic communities throughout the world. . . . Ritual speech, like the call to prayer, the verses of the Qur' an believed to be the word of God, and even group prayer are almost always intoned or chanted rather than simply spoken.

Answer to Question 2

 Sabri Mudallal's voice is well known as the first muezzin' first caller' of the Great Mosque the Zakariyya Mosque where he broadcasts the Islamic Call to Prayer (called Adhan; also called Azan in English). The Call to Prayer is delivered by muezzins at five designated times each day from the minarets of mosques.
 While this is a powerful musical rendering of a sacred Islamic call to prayer; the focus is on the devotional intent of the event, not the musical talent of the reciter.
