Answer to Question 1

The kora is classified as a chordophone because strings vibrate to create the instrument's sound.
The kora is a 21-stringed harp-like instrument with the strings pulled over a bridge (a piece of notched wood similar to violin's bridge). The neck passes straight through a skin-covered resonator.

Answer to Question 2

Three musicians create the music, a vocal solo accompanied by a kora (a twenty-one string bridge-harp) and percussion/spoken interjections. (See photo of a kora in Worlds of Music, Fig. 3.3, p. 1126)

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
