How does duct static air pressure affect the supply fan load?

A refrigeration system data plate states that the low side test pressure is 150 psig and the high side test pressure is 450 psig. What does this mean?

Answer to Question 1

The higher the duct static pressure, the higher the load on the fan and the more energy it will use.

Answer to Question 2

The low side should not be pressurized above 150 psig and the high side above 450 psig. In the field, the entire system should be limited to 150 psig while looking for leaks.
