Answer to Question 1

A large office building will have some offices located near windows around the outer walls of the building while others will be located on the interior of the building. The outer office's cooling load may vary considerably during the day as the sun rises and as the seasons change. The interior office's load will remain more uniform.

Answer to Question 2

Traps in the discharge piping may be required as well as suction line accumulators and crankcase heaters. A hard shutoff expansion valve and liquid line solenoid can keep the liquid refrigerant in the high side of the system.
