The thin copper coating is easily damaged by overheating if the oxyacetylene torch flame is an oxidizing flame or if too much time is taken during brazing.

Answer to Question 2

All the system capacity does not go into changing the air temperature; some capacity is used to condense water on the evaporator coil. The system capacity and the amount of latent cooling versus sensible cooling varies depending upon the system operating conditions, making temperature drop calculations inaccurate.
