Answer to Question 1

A positive pressure is created when more air enters the building through ventilation than leaves through exhaust. A negative pressure is created when the exhaust air exceeds ventilation air.

Answer to Question 2

Makeup air is air that is drawn or blown into a building to replace the air that is exhausted out.
