Identify the windings and the terminal markings for any of the three types of single-phase hermetic compressor motors and explain why the windings are similar in each of the four types of motors.

Answer to Question 1

The terminals are identified as R, S and C. The run winding will be found between the R and C terminals, and the start winding will be found between the S and C terminals.
