Answer to Question 1

The Love Canal incident was an important case in the history of United States environmental policies because it was the first time in the history of the United States. The federal government intervened and relocated all of the residents that were living in an area where they were being exposed to toxic substances and purchased all of the homes of the residents of the area.

Answer to Question 2

The citizens of one state are protected from air pollution that is generated in another state by the Clean Air Act of 1963.
