Answer to Question 1

The form of ownership that expedites decision making processes when engineers are designing a structure for a client is sole ownership because no one except for the sole owner has to be consulted when a decision needs to be made concerning the design.

Answer to Question 2

Zoning is used by cities to restrict the development of structures of a certain type to specific areas within the city. Examples of zoning are having certain locations for residential structures, other areas for commercial structures, and still other areas for manufacturing establishments.

Answer to Question 3

Promissory estoppel is an exception to the requirement that contracts require adequate consideration. It affects construction contracting practices when a situation arises where one party relies upon the promise of another party and they utilize that reliance to perform some act or action or they suffer some type of consequences because of their reliance on the promise.
