Exemption clauses are similar to impossibility clauses in that they may cover abnormally severe weather or natural disasters; civil strife, riots, or war; destruction of subject matter; fire; and flooding. Exemption clauses may also include interference by host governments, acts of terrorism, coups, or host government agents not approving projects.
