Project monitoring can take many forms with variances occurring in the level of
detail that recorded. Examples of monitoring methods include the following: direct onsite
observation, photography, video recordings, written documentation of various types, etc.
Because the information can be used in differing ways, it is generally advisable that more
than one method be utilized. Some will simply record the accomplishment of work at a
point in time while others may provide information on the rate at which work is being
