Answer to Question 1

Construction professionals who are confronted by such an employee should proceed as follows:
 Listen.
 Maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
Make the employee aware of the company's policy on AIDS.
Respond in accordance with company policy.

Answer to Question 2

OSHA's guidelines for preventing exposure to HIV infection identify three categories of work-related tasks: Categories I, II, and III. Jobs that fall into Category I involve routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues that might be HIV infected. Category II jobs do not involve routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but some aspects of the job may involve occasionally performing Category I tasks. Category III jobs do not normally involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
