An emergency is a potentially life-threatening situation, usually occurring suddenly and unexpectedly. Emergencies may be the result of natural and/or human causes.

Answer to Question 2

The purpose of the report is to record the findings of the accident investigation, the cause or causes of the accident, and recommendations for corrective action.
