A raceway pond is an oval shaped canal with a mechanism for moving the water around the track in order to grow algae.

Answer to Question 2

Algae are tiny biological single-cell plant organisms that use photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide and sunlight into energy in the form of an oil.
