Answer to Question 1

A star more massive than 20 solar masses can exhaust its nuclear fuel and collapse directly into a black hole. Models show that if the star is rotating rapidly, the conservation of angular momentum would increase that spin during the collapse. This would slow the equatorial portions of the star, allowing the poles of the star to collapse more quickly.

The difference in collapse would focus beams of intense radiation and ejected gas along the axis of rotation. If the beams were pointed at Earth, a powerful gamma-ray burst would be detected. This particular scenario of GRB creation is termed a hypernova..

Answer to Question 2

False

Though newer “smart” infusion pumps are increasingly becoming more sophisticated, they cannot prevent all programming and administration errors. Health care professionals that use smart infusion pumps must still practice the rights of medication administration and have other professionals double-check all high-risk infusions.
