A voltage V is applied to the primary coil of a step-up transformer with a 3:1 ratio of turns between its primary and secondary coils. A resistor R connected to the secondary dissipates a power P = 100 W.

How much power is dissipated by the same resistor when the ratio of turns in the transformer is changed to 24:1 and the same input voltage is used?
  A) 12,000 W
  B) 2400 W
  C) 24,000 W
  D) 6400 W
  E) 100 W

Your skin wrinkles if you stay in the bathtub a long time because the outermost layer of skin (which consists of dead keratin) swells when it absorbs water. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
