A mass is attached to a spring of spring constant 60 N/m along a horizontal, frictionless surface. The spring is initially stretched by a force of 5.0 N on the mass and let go.

It takes the mass 0.50 s to go back to its equilibrium position when it is oscillating. What is the period of oscillation?
  A) 0.50 s
  B) 1.0 s
  C) 1.5 s
  D) 2.0 s
  E) 2.5 s

Question 2

A gas undergoes a process A-B that traces a straight line in the p-V diagram. At A the gas has a pressure of 75 kPa and a volume of 12 L. At B the pressure is 60 kPA and the volume is 20 L. The heat gained in this process is 600 J.

The internal energy of the gas at A is 70 J. What is the internal energy of the gas at B? A) 60 J
  B) 10 J
  C) 190 J
  D) 130 J
  E) 70 J

Your skin wrinkles if you stay in the bathtub a long time because the outermost layer of skin (which consists of dead keratin) swells when it absorbs water. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
