Answer to Question 1

As Europa orbits Jupiter, tidal forces cause it to flex. This heats the interior.

Answer to Question 2

There are features on Europa that are similar to pressure ridges seen on ice floes on Earth. Chunks of ice that resemble icebergs have been seen to change position, indicating moving water under them. There is at least one region where the icy surface seems to have been pulled apart, with new material filling in.
