Answer to Question 1

There are many problems in building a true hydrogen economy, starting with the
inadequacy of the natural gas pipelines to carry hydrogen. In addition, if hydrogen is to be
used in transportation, the filling station infrastructure will have to be created comparable to
gasoline availability. Furthermore, the hydrogen storage problem for automobiles is not yet
solved, though many proposals have been suggested.

Answer to Question 2

Renewable energy is available in large amounts from the Sun and wind. The
energy is free, really free of cost, and so any inefficiencies have little economic impact.
Because solar energy would deposit its energy on Earth in any case, there is no concern
about waste heat.
