Figure 5.9 appears to show linear growth. It is terrifying enough, but the real
situation will probably feature exponential growth and be worse than predicted.

Answer to Question 2

They are absolutely renewable; they grow every year. Also, the area dedicated to
various feedstock biologicals can be varied from year to year in response to anticipated
demand, whereas chemical feedstocks from conventional sources are generally minerals.
