Answer: The separation of landmasses away from being centered at the equator allowed new circulation patterns to developwarm equatorial water circulated northward to warm higher latitudesclimate became mild. Rifting activity resulted in high standing ocean basins allowing seawater to flood the continentsa rise in sea level. This rise in sea level also contributed to a milder climate.
