Answer: The seafloor spreading theory states that ocean basins spread apart as the ocean crust grows at the mid-ocean ridges.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: The jig-saw puzzle fit of South America and Africa When the continental shelf is included with these two continents, the fit is nearly perfect
