Are the laws of energy conservation of energy, and 2nd law of thermodynamics known for certain to be true?

  A) No; in fact these laws are known to be violated at sufficiently high speeds, small distances, and large distance.
  B) No, because all scientific laws are tentative.
  C) No, for both of the above reasons.
  D) Yes, because despite repeated checking they have never been found to be false.
  E) Yes because, unlike some of the other laws, these laws are true by logical deduction from a priori premises.
