Evaluating the first session is essential in planning for the second session. If the first session was successful, then a brief warm up may be all that's needed before moving into the content of the day. If a positive tone was not set during the first session, the leader can ask the members what they thought about the first session, acknowledge that things did not go well and that future sessions will not be similar, or restate the purpose of the group and choose not to recapitulate any of the negative things that happened in the first session.
