 Culture is important to career counseling for a variety of reasons. The most important pertain to the fact that awareness of both the counselor's and the client's culture can help to reach success in the counseling process.
 As a result of this awareness, the counselor is able to understand and negate stereotypical behavior and assumptions which could be detrimental to the counseling process.
 In addition, culture is important to the area of career counseling because of the fact that it prompts awareness for each individual's particular avenue of counseling as opposed to being broadly counseled by a professional.
