Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: Human beings have six perceptual systems for receiving information about the world:
visual (sight), auditory (sounds), tactile (touch), kinesthetic (muscle feeling), olfactory
(smell), and gustatory (taste). Educational instruction emphasizes the visual, auditory,
kinesthetic, and tactile systems as the most practical approaches for learning.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: Transition is the process of going from one organized program to another. This
change in placement can be traumatic for the child and the family. Infants and toddlers
in Part C programs make a transition to Part B programs. Preschoolers in Part B
programs make a transition to general education classrooms or special education
programs.
