Answer should include discussion of assumption of risk (walking on a known slippery, icy sidewalk), comparative negligence and contributory negligence (plaintiff somehow contributed to own injury), states have one defense or the other, and superseding event (defendant claims something else happened to truly cause plaintiff's injury).
