The attorney-client privilege is a rule of evidence that protects the client from the attorney being required to reveal the client's confidential information. Nothing more needs be done to invoke the privilege unless and until the lawyer is questioned under oath. At that time, the attorney must invoke the privilege and its existence must be established on behalf of the client.
