Answer to Question 1

The self-defense exception allows an attorney who has been accused of wrongdoing to reveal confidential information to assist in the defense of any claim brought against him or her.

Answer to Question 2

The legal team cannot simultaneously represent those who have opposing interests. If a law firm represented a corporation in a contract negotiation, the firm could not also represent a person bringing a lawsuit against that corporation for breach of the same contract.
