Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

A legal encyclopedia and a legal dictionary would be most helpful if you are not familiar with a particular topic. American Jurisprudence 2d is a good legal encyclopedia organized alphabetically by topic so the person could look under the alphabetical list for Contempt. Having a legal dictionary, such as Black's Law Dictionary, is also extremely helpful for a novice researcher who is just learning about a topic.
