Answer to Question 1

It may be more cost-effective to take depositions of experts in advance. Since the exact time of the testimony in the trial may be unknown, it could be very expensive to have the expert waiting hours or days to testify. In the alternative, the expert could testify remotely using video conferencing technology. Litigation software should be used to show a recorded deposition so that the transcript of the testimony can be shown simultaneously. This will allow a caption for the jury to read and understand the testimony.
