Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

Abraham H. Maslow focused on a person's basic needs and the relative order of their importance. He identified a hierarchy of needs as follows:
a. Physical: the need for food and shelter.
b. Safety and belonging: the need for protection from people and/or the environment.
c. Social: the need for love and belonging.
d. Esteem: the need for self-respect and the respect of others.
e. Self-actualization: the need to meet one's potential.
Lower-level needs must be satisfied for the most part before a person can be concerned with the satisfaction of higher-level needs. A corollary of this is that once a need has primarily been satisfied, it ceases to motivate the person.
Managers should attempt to determine what needs employees are seeking to satisfy and create an environment that gives employees opportunities to satisfy them.
