The Silk Road was a series of land and sea trade routes whose name has its origin
in the trade for Chinese silk. It covered 7000 miles and included trade between
China, Greece, Rome, Arabia, Persia, India, Turkey, Korea, Japan, and Ethiopia.
Its initial purpose was in the trade of goods like silk but that lead to trading
everything, especially foods, but eventually that lead to a sharing of culture, ideas,
arts, sciences, and innovations forming a foundation and expansion for many
diverse cultures.
