Answer to Question 1

weather reports, major local events, planned construction projects, conventions
coming to town, festivals.

Answer to Question 2

As a situational leader, the chef supervisor will need to analyze the team. Within the group there
will be individuals who have high commitment to the team and its goals but who lack the
necessary array of skills. In this situation the chef supervisor uses a detailed set of instructions to
lead the team membera directing style. Other team members may have some culinary skill
competence but a low commitment to the team's vision and goals. Here, a coaching and
correcting style highly supportive of the team member would be appropriate. A team member
who is sometimes committed and has a lot of skills will require a supporting leadership style.
Such a team member is capable of working alone with little direction, while team members with
well-developed skills and a great deal of team commitment require that tasks be delegated to
them in order to feel fulfilled.
