Answer to Question 1

Few students (or professors), if any, will have personal experiences in both
cultures. But if we examine the cultural attributes listed in Chapter 14, cursory
research suggests that the two cultures do indeed have different attitudes about
time; formality; individualism (there may be some similarities here); rank and
hierarchy (again, perhaps some similarities); religion, taste and diet; colors,
numbers, and symbols; and assimilation and acculturation.

Answer to Question 2

His efforts certainly hearken back to resource dependency theory (Chapter Four).
If the world's poor are his clients and his mission is ease their plight, then Bono
has proven himself aware of the fact that he must build relationships with the
resource holders: the world's rich and powerful. And many of these tactics are
the tactics of public relations: special events, speeches and photo opportunities
