Answer to Question 1

A subtext refers to those implicit meanings behind the language of a film or
play script. Any script meant to be spoken has a subtext, even one of great literary
distinction. Film examples included Romeo and Juliet and The Homecoming.

Answer to Question 2

The monologue and dialogue. Monologues are often associated with
documentaries, but can also be found in fictional films, in which an off-screen
narrator provides the audience with factual information accompanying the visuals.
Dialogue is generally natural speech or conversational language between characters.
