Three additional Chinese sites are Lantian County (1.65-1.54 million ya), Hexian County (dating
unclear), and Yunxian County (800,000-580,000 ya). Significance of these sites is that some are
older than Zhoukoudian and they also are potentially different from non-Chinese Homo erectus
sites in that the Yunxian appears to have been a population with limited hunting capabilities.
