Answer to Question 1

Despite laws passed in states like Arizona aimed at fighting immigrant crime, research has supported that the correlation among natural-born U.S. citizens and crime is a more significant cause of crime. U.S.-born citizens are over three times more likely to be arrested and nearly ten times more likely to populate country jails and prisons in states with significant illegal immigrant status.
