Answer: Students can discuss any of the following myths. First myth stems from the idea that women enjoy being forced to have sex and not to take no for an answer. A second myth is the belief that women ask or deserve to be raped based on the way they dress or behave. Or that a real rape has not occurred unless the women was injured, the women was a virgin, or the women did not act in a manner that suggested she wanted sex.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Learned helplessness is a self-defense mechanism that may help a women cope with the abuse. In this circumstance a victim may lose hope and become passive. This response leads them to stay in an abusive relationship.
