Answer: Some research finds that womens poverty resulting from their low-paying jobs and increasing divorce rates plays a very important role in their offending which often involves petty property crime. Women are less likely to have their strain-induced anger translate into delinquency.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Anderson documented a code of the street among young urban African-Americans that arises from their despair and alienation and that helps explain their interpersonal violence. Its most central feature is the need and striving for respect.
