Of these two following choices, which youth would be the most likely to reoffend if released into the community? Explain.
  1 ) A 15-year-old male released on probation with intense supervision.
  2 ) An 18-year-old male released on parole.

The answer should include the following points:
 Probationers have a significantly lower violation rate than do parolees.
 Intensive probation supervision is associated with lower recidivism rates for youths under age eighteen.
 Studies evaluating the probation efforts of the 1960s and 1970s indicated that probation was more effective than any other method for rehabilitating youthful offenders.

The answer should include the following points:
 Safe Houses' staffs are particularly eager to involve adolescent females who have run away from home and ended up as prostitutes.
 Safe houses are essential for juveniles strung out on drugs.
