Circles and arcs are not true circles and arcs in SketchUp; they comprise short, linear segments. What is the advantage of using arcs and circles with a high number of segments? A low number?

If you need to find the center of a circle or arc, and SketchUp can't find the center, what should you do?

Answer to Question 1

Using a high number of segments means a smoother, more realistic-looking circle. Using a lower number means the model comprises fewer objects, so model speed will be faster. For objects that will not be viewed closely, such as drawer handles, there's no need for high-segmented circles.

Answer to Question 2

Move your cursor along the edge of the circle or arc and hover for a few seconds to remind SketchUp of the circle's geometry. Then move back to the center and try again to snap to it.
